    Hello,

Suzanne’s poem is very accurate in relation to this tulip. The tulip is an improved version of the “Rembrant” tulip developed in the 17th century. The flower bears a resemblance to the tulips depicted by the Dutch Masters. In 17th century Holland “Tulipomania (tulipmania)” occured. Literally fortunes were spent for just a single bulb. Luckily today the bulbs are not too expensive but the shipping from Holland might cost a fortune! Lori
